GARDEN!

Well.....Im so excited to say that Andrew and I are building a garden! After 4 trips to Home Depot, we finally made progress today. Here is my documentation of our lovely day today. It first started with eating our breakfast on the porch while listening to music. Then we got to work.  We had all the essentials it was just time to assemble.  First we actually had to fix a water spicket that was broken so that we could have a hose in our backyard....very important part of gardening.  Fixed that.....then moved onto building the flower bed. Then we built the fence. We have a bunch of succulents that Andrew brought from San Luis Obispo, so we transplanted those. We also got a few house plants too......those definitely make me feel like my house is more of a home. :)

Starting on the flower bed!

We decided on a 4 x 8, I wanted 2 boxes, but Andrews mom is going to send us a bunch of goodies too including big pots so....Im waiting for those. Cant wait! :)

Taken while putting up the fence.......and dont laugh at me for the safety glasses in my hand. When all the grass dies in the winter.....it basically looks like we let a bail of hay loose in our backyard and when the wind picks up it is very bad for the eyes!

Part of the fence :)

And the almost finished product! We have yet to buy the dirt, and all the seeds......its still a bit too cold to start planting but we wanted to get a head start on it. :)  It is completely dog proof too, so no more new soil beds for tex. and our rake and shovel handles will no longer get chewed on. I put a table in there too so I could have a nice work space. Did I mention how excited I am?

Our new tools, I never thought as a kid that I would be excited to have these. :)

June.....the one and only time she will be allowed in here.

Andrew using the hose in the backyard.....we havent had one at all until today. So thats nice :)

Thats it for now....but definitley expect more to come. I cant wait to see the fruits and veggies of our labors! :)

February 2011

Because I passed on blogging for the whole month of February I feel I need to do a bit of catch up for you all and myself I guess.  I will be doing this by pictures :)

First off......I froze my butt off this February!  It snowed for literally the firrst 2 weeks, driving in it was no fun....but playing in it was great! Both dogs look so unhappy in this picture but It sure makes me laugh! :)

Andrew got the sickest Ive ever seen him during this snow storm.....and he humored me for this picture and got up off the couch to take this picture with me. I had to document our first snow in Lubbock! :)

My June, she looks so small here....

So the other day, I told Andrew that I wanted to go for a drive to....ya know.....explore the area. Well he said pick a direction, so we drove north.  We drove for a little over an hour, and basically I realized why the town that we turned around at was called Plainview.  Lubbock is called the Hub City for a reason....there is nothing for miles and miles and miles in all directions! This is what my exploring amounted to........basically brown ugliness for what seems like ever, with an occasional shrubby tree.

Sorry for the load of puppy posts.....but....this just cracks me up!  They both like to cuddle so much, yet they both look so uncomfortable.

June has the prettiest eyes I have ever seen on a dog. This is the norm when we are in the car, she loves to watch where we are going.

I played my very first game of golf!  It was hilarious....and also hilariously bad! Being that the last time I had been to a driving range was like 7 months prior....I was a little worried. But we were with great friends Justin and Brittany. a large ice chest of beer, and we were in no hurry. Mostly the balls I hit never quite made it off the ground.....I'd hit them but they would fly across the ground super fast.  However that doesnt mean they even stayed in my fairway either.  We played best ball between the couples Andrew and I vs Justin and Brittany.  I was happy that we got to use my ball a few times! :)

Isnt the golf course beautiful in the background? I forgot to mention that they dont get rain here in the winter, so everything dies from the cold and its allways brown. So....our "greens" werent very green.

Here we go! :)

The next pictures didnt really happen in February, but it fit with this blog. On March 4th 2011 Andrew and I celebrated our 6 month anniversary of being married! WOOHOO! lol!  So, I created a MEAT BOUQUET for my husband.  For those of you who know him.....this is the most perfect gift imaginable. I have to thank miss ABC for the wonderful idea.....she deserves all the credit. Needless to say Andrew was so excited!

Closer up.....Hot Dogs, Salami, Summer Sausage, Beef Jerkey, Slim Jim, Roast Beef, Turkey, provolone chees for color, and lettuce! You should have seen the look on the guys face at the meat counter at the grocery store when I asked him for a large sheet of just butcher paper with nothing in it. I went on to explain what I was making and he willingly gave up the butcher paper and wished me luck!

These were the definite highlights for Andrew and I!  I keep thinking that we are getting used to the texas lifestyle, but then texas throws new things at us all the time.  last weekend we had a DUST STORM. That was intense! From 105 degree summers, to snow, to freezing rain, to SEVERE wind advisorys.....so mudstorms to duststorms......eeks! LOL  I keep hearing just wait till hell season......hail is pronounced as hell here......but hail season is also tornado season......so....maybe calliing it hell justifies it! haha!

Anyway, thats all for now....but....I promise I will be back soon!

Its been a while........

Well, Im back......It has now been over a month since my last post, and I figured out why it took me so long.  Im still really having a hard time with the fact that my house got broken into. My computer and my camera were both huge parts of my life.........and not having either made me depressed......needless to say i guess. Everytime I sat down and wanted to blog, I got reminded that all of my pictures were on my camera and/or saved onto my laptop.....and Id get mad and stop.

But after talking to my dear friend Stephanie I was told that she misses me because I stopped blogging. So for the sake of me working through my sadness and for those who miss me, I decided to jump back in. :)

And because I can.....here are my wonderful puppies! :)
